The four major types of college essays are: Narrative Essays, Descriptive Essays, Expository Essays, Persuasive essays. Through this article we will explore the differences between each one.

Narrative Essays (Story Time)

Writing a narrative essay isn’t much different than writing a story. This isn’t to imply that it’s the same as writing a short piece of fiction. In this case it’s more like a news story or a magazine article. You will tell a story about a real life experience – either yours or someone else’s. How Nursing Has Changed In The Past 50 Years

Nursing has changed dramatically over the last 50 years, with a current emphasis on improved patient relations and improved communication. In Samsung Hospital in Seoul, South Korea, a tech was preparing a client and their family for an assessment of the condition of a young girl. At the time of admittance, there were no obvious signs of their religion. The family was originally from a country on the border between Asia and the Middle East, with one side of the family from the Middle East and the other from Korea.

The RN was responsible for this family, administering the necessary answers for any questions asked about the possible treatment options for the young girl, as well as questions pertaining to what the doctors have prescribed. The RN is not able to give guidance in terms of which treatment option is best, but the family continually ask because the chances of living for the young girl are very slim. The resident nurse cannot provide this, but had to communicate with the nurse manager as to whether or not they could fulfill the requirements as a nurse.

The resident nurse must communication everything which took place between them and the patients, such as recording each time they administered drugs and how much they administered, as well as noting any questions which the family had that the registered nurse was not qualified to answer. In these cases, if the registered nurse is not sure how much medication to give a patient, they would check their charts and then talk to the nurse manager if further questions existed. If the family asked questions which the registered nurse was unable to answer, then they could turn to the nurse manager and speak with them to see if they had the answers, or if they knew where to obtain the answers. It is important to maintain professional collaboration between the nursing personnel and the nurse manager because the two must work together. If the registered nurse is unable to communicate effectively with the family and would feel better suited if another nurse on staff attended, then that registered nurse must explain the situation to the nurse manager and hope that the nurse manager is able to fix the situation.

In this scenario, the family revealed that they were of a particular religion, a member of which had severely injured one of the parents of the registered nurse, and killed another, creating a barrier between the registered nurse and the clients and making it difficult for the registered nurse to remain professional. If the communication broke down between the nurse manager and the resident nurse, then the resident nurse would not be able to effectively communicate their concerns, why they were having difficulty remaining professional, and that they would be better suited working with another patient, or on other shifts. If the nurse manager does not inquire into the state of the registered nurse, then they might not know that a problem exists or that it could exist because of a religious difference.
