There are four major types of college essays that you will write. When you understand the major difference between each one your writing assignments will be that much easier. The four major types of college essays are: Narrative Essays, Descriptive Essays, Expository Essays, Persuasive essays. Through this article we will explore the differences between each one.
Writing a narrative essay isn’t much different than writing a story. This isn’t to imply that it’s the same as writing a short piece of fiction. In this case it’s more like a news story or a magazine article. You will tell a story about a real life experience – either yours or someone else’s. It is typically written in the first person perspective. At the end of the essay you will have delivered a personal statement or belief in a powerful and effective way.

Once you have experienced interaction with a brilliant load of coursework, you probably have seen first- hand how much of a difference it can make on furthering your academic work. The question now lies whether or not you TOO can create brilliant coursework. The answer? Why of course you can! Writing brilliant course work is intellectually well within your reach; the trick is just how to put it all together!
The first step in writing phenomenal coursework is obtaining excellent research. Before beginning the search for your research, you want to have a clear understanding of what it is that you are writing about. Take the genre or core “course” of your writing and use any classification method to break it up into different topics or areas of study coverage. Next, divide those areas of study into even further sub- topics. Continue dividing and breaking up your topics until you have covered everything that could possibly be covered in your overall course of study. Then, it’s time to begin gathering research.
When you begin gathering research, you want to gather a wide variety of research that covers all aspects of your material in different ways. Make sure that each article you choose to use to help write your coursework differs from the others (why add more work than you need to?). It is also important to dissect each piece of research to ensure that you know exactly why it is that you are using each piece of work. Once you have gathered a successful amount of research, it’s on to the easy stuff.
When writing your coursework, thorough is the key word. Make sure you are explaining each topic and sub- topic in a thorough, factual and organized way. Don’t simply copy and paste your research information into your topic paragraphs; rephrase them in a way that has helped you make sense of the material yourself. After all, the best coursework is created from those that took the time to fully understand the material as they wrote it. Another key part of successful coursework is visuals! Visuals can include diagrams, charts, or anything that you feel can adequately convey the material in a visually more assessable way. In moments where you can replace paragraphs with visuals, do so! As long as your information is thorough, it is up to you how to write about it.
Above all, keep in mind that if you can’t understand the material 100%, neither can any of your readers. Taking your time will always benefit you when writing coursework. Do this, and you will have brilliant coursework of your own in no time!
