There are four major types of college essays that you will write. When you understand the major difference between each one your writing assignments will be that much easier. The four major types of college essays are: Narrative Essays, Descriptive Essays, Expository Essays, Persuasive essays. Through this article we will explore the differences between each one.

Narrative Essays (Story Time)

Writing a narrative essay isn’t much different than writing a story. This isn’t to imply that it’s the same as writing a short piece of fiction. In this case it’s more like a news story or a magazine article. You will tell a story about a real life experience – either yours or someone else’s. It is typically written in the first person perspective. At the end of the essay you will have delivered a personal statement or belief in a powerful and effective way.

Can China Grow Peacefully

For many years, it was regarded that the United States and Russia were the two leading powers in the global sphere. After the end of the cold war, however, it appears that there is a new global empire on the rise, and that is China. China is a country that appears to be rising rapidly, and has legitimate potential to alter the fundamental aspects of the international system. The Chinese economy has been rising consistently in the last few decades, and there is no indication that it is about to slow down any time soon. In addition, the rise in China’s economy is especially impressive due to its exponentially increasing rate. China’s rise is already regarded to be one of the most important geopolitical developments of the twenty-first century. The rise of China is undisputable, however the remaining question is if they are able to rise to the top of the global economy in a peaceful manner.

It is important to acknowledge international policies and theories that may be able to explain the likely actions of rising states. Because the future is unknown, theory is the only indication of what may happen. According to some theories, China’s rise is unlikely to be tranquil due to the theory that a rising state tends to try to dominate competing empires. That is to say that if China reaches new economical heights, it will attempt to dominate the Western Hemisphere just as the United States attempted to dominate other territories on its way to the top. This will create a divide on an international level, with allies of the United States likely being India, Japan, Singapore, Russia and Vietnam that have special interest of containing Chinese power. If China’s current rise is any indication of the future, there is a strong likelihood that China will be much more powerful in the future, and neighboring countries would fight to restrain that power. Still, there is no strong military power that exists in China, so the country may be constrained in some regards by the global balance of power. The military power is currently and overwhelmingly in the United State’s favor, which can pose issues for the rise of China.

While there is strong indication that China may take extreme lengths in order to reach the top of the global economy, there are also factors that impede on their opportunity to the rise to the top in a tranquil manner. The future may not be certain, however China’s rise is undisputable. They way that they rise, however, is still to be seen.
